hi it's october now and things are going pretty well.
I like the Buffy. My favorite female character is Drusilla
and my favorite male character is Xander. There was an
episode where he was swimming. Right now there is a Mr. Show baseball
playoff thing going on (Bob=Cubs vs. David=Braves). Well sort of.
I go now.
Today is October 2. Something very cool is happening, even as I type.
The Cheap Trick song "Dream Police" is playing on 105.1 KCCQ (local
'new-rock' station). Robin Zander and Tom Petersson are guests on
Loveline, and Adam kept talking about Dream Police, so finally they
played it. Very very exciting time. This is one of those songs that I
like to sing a lot and it bothers other people ;0) The odd thing is that
now i have to be friends with Adam Corolla since he is a CT fan. (even
though it is easier for me to just think of him as a misogynist
lunkhead)
Today is October 12. I seriously have nothing to write about, so it's
not like you're missing anything. A kid tripped over my yo-yo power
adapter for Swoop (iBook) and busted it, so I had to get a new one.
Hopefully here tomorrow. We got the plane tickets for another winter
vaca to Colorful Colorado. I saw the movie SWAT; it was directed by none
other than Meldrick Lewis, king of the porkpie hat (aka Clark Johnson).
It even had a quick scene with Kellerman.
"Mine Is No Disgrace"
Today is October 14. Just experimenting with a title for this entry.
I'm listening to Yes on the iPod. The band I was obsessed with in high
school. Huzzah. I can listen to the yes album, fragile, and close to
the edge probably infinite number of times without getting sick of them
(and often noticing something new in the songs if I go awhile without
listening). So that's cool.
Today is October 15. Come back, Swoop, I miss
you warming my lap. Hopefully your power cord arrived today. Justin,
Justin and I are working on our senior design project poster. It has a
beautiful crimson gradient background.
Today is October 20. Month is going really quickly. My weekend was fun;
Saturday I worked, got off a little early, then Chris and I went to Omaha
for a romantic 1/2 weekend getaway. The only real damper was that our
hotel was no where near 4-star standards as indicated by Orbitz. Oh
well. They did have different styles of pillows on the bed so there was
one to Chris's liking (when you already have sleep issues, you don't fuck
around with inadequate pillows)
Saturday night we did some shopping - I went on a spree at Torrid (best.
store. ever) I got some red Dickies
corduroys, a black
pleater skirt, a disco-y dress,
some stripey socks (purple + black, and green + black to get me up to
another "stamp" on my card), and something underwear-related. Also I got
a 3-pack of books from The Onion for a very good price at Waldenbooks.
Chris got a big IcewindDale pack which had the first game, the expansion,
the sequel, the soundtrack, and bonus stuff. So he's excited about
that.
Sunday was the Zoo again, since there was some stuff we either skipped or
rushed through last time. Chris had a lot of insights due to playing the
Zoo tycoon computer game. I vaguely remember some animals flipping out -
like there was an owl and a lizard in one area of the desert and the owl
was NOT happy about that. The lizard didn't seem to care though. Also
there were these swans or geese or something with red blobs on their
bills and some small brown ducks would swim over and the red blob ones
would harass them. Many of the big cats were pacing because they wanted
to go outside or something. I saw a man wearing a Sigfried and Roy white
tiger tee shirt, which I thought was a little odd, to wear to a zoo, just
after a tragic Roy/tiger encounter.
This morning I did not want to get out of bed at all so i was late for my
mtg. Now I'm hanging out in the ALC.
Pasted here only because it is flattering-ish:
ESFP - "Entertainer".
Radiates attractive warmth and optimism. Smooth, witty, charming, clever.
Fun to be with. Very generous. 8.5% of the total population.
Today is October 22. Yesterday I got a wireless router for the
apartment. The wireless part works great; but for some reason my desktop
is forced to re-NetReg with my ISP, and no matter what password I try, it
says my username is not found. So I'll have to call them at some point
in time and figure stuff out. I'm not really sure why the wireless
works when it won't authenticate the desktop, but oh well. As of right
now, I haven't password-protected the network yet so if you live in my
building you might be able to get wireless access off me.
Also yesterday was Rush Live DVD tuesday
and I got the DVD and CD for 35 bucks! A special Best Buy dealy. Recall
this is the one that has a pineapple on the cover (on a dragon's head).
Today is October 27. At work on Sunday we were unsupervised
and we fried a bunch of random things in the fryer. (Indie Rock Pete
represents) Cheryl and I made fried mushrooms
and they were really good. I tried to make a fried cauliflower but it
wasn't that yum. Last night was film picking but I can't find the piece
of paper where I wrote down the films. But I think we got some good ones
in there.
I now have four pairs of pineapple pajama pants.
Dark blue soft cotton t-shirt material with small pineapples and
other images
Light blue/teal capri-length with large pineapples and flowers
Dark green with pineapples and tropical drinks, each image labeled
"Pina" "Tiki Sunrise" etc.
White flannel with large pineapples, coconuts, and pineapple rings
I also have pajama pants with cats on them, and of course the Rowe
flannel pants that I love.
I guess the real issue right now is whether I should get Panther. I have no doubts that Swoop
could run it (not sure about Larry) but I have so many os9 apps I use,
that I forsee it being a pain to dual-boot. Or whatever the term is.
Esp. on a laptop. I'm feeling cranky because I am going through a
no-homework zone (except for statics, of course) and it's not cool. I
know I should do my other homeworks but it's such a struggle. Ick. At
least I was on time for Sr. Design meeting this morning! That's kind of
an accomplishment.
Today is October 28. It is very windy today. As I was waiting for the
bus, there were hundreds of leaves blowing down Mortensen, turning left
onto Ash. It reminded me of the time ISU Mens' Basketball made it to the
"sweet 16" and hundreds of students poured down Lincoln Way in
celebration. It was my freshman year. I walked with Scott and Amy -
from Helser to Towers to the Knoll, down to Jack Trice, and back home.
Some ppl tried to tear down the goal posts and instead I think they threw
a piece of fence into Lake Laverne. (All this from watching leaves blow
down the street) Back to the Land of
