Today is December 1. I'm trying to update my page from work
but the
computer here has all these permissions that make it difficult for me to
create a new page with my usual method. It's a very slow day at work
today so far.
Yesterday I learned that green apple Schnapps is much better with
Mountain Dew than with Sprite. Yum!
Today is December 6. Sometimes I think of interesting things to write
about, but by the time I get to a computer, it's too late. Next week is
going to be so evil, lots of stuff to do.
Here's the scoop: Next week I have 2 homeworks, 2 projects, 1 regular
lab, and 1 quiz. Also I have an extra credit project I can do, (yeah
right) and another project for EE that we *should* do but it's not as big
a priority. Then for finals week I have 3 papers due for English, a
group project, 1 quiz and 2 finals.
But after all that, we get to go to Colorado. Dad, Jonno, Chris and I.
Then we'll come back and hang out and probably Chris will have to start
packing up his stuff for the move to Blair, NE. He has accepted an
internship with Omaha Public Power District and he'll be down there from
Jan to Aug of 03. I'll stay here and take some classes. Chang has
promised us the bubble gum in 483 if he doesn't give it to us at the
final exam =)
Still 12/06 for some reason, the phrase "Am I sassy or not?"
popped into my head. So I decided to google for it. And it was not there.
So that's my goal now, to make a web site called www.sassyornot.com
and people could check if they were sassy or not.
Today is December 8. 40 pieces of e-mail, only one was actually useful
to me, and even that was just something for a class. No, I'm not going
to start demanding people write to me. That would be very hypocritical
since I am very lax about writing my friends. Just wanted to throw the
number up there.
Hy-Vee Christmas party was last night. Chris and I went together, and
Alicia followed us. Unfortunately I took a really stupid way to get
there. But we had lots of fun once we got there. We sat with some ppl
from the Chinese dept, Raziq (Afghanistan via Pakistan and India), Hoa
(Vietnam) and Miao-Ching (Taiwan). Very fun people! Later I got to sing
"Don't Stop Believin'" on karaoke =) Also I got a 3-year service award
(nice pen) and an ISU pullover coat, and an ISU grill cover. That last
one's going to Dad, heh.
Today is December 9. I just don't want to try
anymore. Big stupid
project
that I don't want to do. There's people all around me actually working
on it, and all I'm doing is reading webcomics and journals.
It's sad, really. There's a part of me missing, and that's the part that
wants to push myself and achieve great things.
Today is December 10. Sitting in English, getting crushing overwhelming
feeling again. Took a quiz:

What Is Your True Aura Colour?
brought to you by Quizilla
For some reason that result appealed to me, so I add it here. Plus this
page looks kind of bland and it gives some color.
Today is December 11. I am in Coover, my second home I guess. I have
accepted that it will continue to be so for the next year or two of my
life. There was a dude in here whose T-shirt read "Finish you beer!
There are sober kids in India." And he looked like he could be from
India/Pakistan. Either way, it's funny.
Today is December 12. We're (Matt
and I are) trying to get our CprE 305 "project" checked off. If this
isn't a completely soul-crushing moment, I don't know what is. I guess
the only thing worse than a soul-crushing moment is one that lasts two
hours.
I'm using the computer that Matt is logged into, I'm logged into a
computer too, but I was over here doing some stuff that we thought would
help, but ultimately had no impact on the project. Meanwhile, my
computer says "The moon rules!" It's great. It's probably my only
moment of joy today.
Today is December 13. Here are some things I am in favor of:
- crying at something random, like a Christmas card with pictures of
cartoon snowmen playing instruments. even now when i think about them, i
get a
little misty. The card in question is one Chris received from Micron.
- sending off angry e-mails without thinking. it makes one feel
powerful, but later, stupid. Even so, I'm still in favor of it for the
temporary rush of angry emotions.
- squirrels. they're so fuzzy and they scamper all over
- hiding under a big blanket
- tweaking one's homepage to perfection
- the death of
school
That's all I have for now. I won't trouble you with the things I am not
in favor of (other than crows, since they provide an interesting
counterpoint to squirrels) because we're out here to be positive
today.
Today is December 17. Someone needs to tell fudge-covered
graham crackers to stop being so delicious. Seriously.
Well this morning was my first final of the season, Cpr E 305.
(Needless to say, that test bit my ass)
I could have been a contestant in the game "Quick, Guy or Girl?" This is
a game I invented where you walk around campus and attempt to identify
the gender of random people you encounter. I wore a big sweatshirt and
coat, swishy pants, and my green
hat. I was quite the picture of gender-neutrality, especially since
you couldn't really see my hair.
The bummer part is now I have to write all my English crap and study for
Com Sci. Peace out.
Still December 17, but later. In computer lab, trying to write papers.
Does anyone remember the horse cartoon on Sesame Street, where there was
this horse that had one leg, and he tried to walk, then he had two legs,
tried to walk, then three and finally all four legs? It was a cute
cartoon with sound effects and stuff when he tried to walk with the wrong
number of legs. My brother and I loved it, our mom did not. We'd always
act it out, using our hand for the horse and making sound effects. If
anyone remembers this plz drop me a line...maybe someone will do a Google
search for sesame street horse cartoon and find my page then we can talk
all about the horse with the funny sounds.
Today is December 18. 2:16 in the AM. Three papers done. One group
project that's going to be really lame, to go. Right now, to bed.
Now it's 11:47 at night, and I'm in the library with Chris and a
bunch of
other people trying to study and or chat and drink pop. I snagged the
issue of the New Yorker that mentions Rush and I typed up the article for all my fellow
Rush freaks. It's kind of short, but hey what can ya do.
Today is December 20. Yesterday I was done with finals, as of 5pm. I
e-mailed the group project to our English teacher, and I was free. FREE!
After that I hung out and then went to Welch Ave Station with Regan,
Alicia, and Regan's Chris. It was in honor of Regan's birthday (which is
actually today, we stayed until Midnight to make it official) and also
her graduation from ISU. Saw sooooo many people I know. Worlds were
colliding.
today is December 21. Happy Winter Solstice to all. And to all, the
shortest night. Of the year =)
Well right now I'm suppossed to be getting ready for the big Ski Trip.
All my stuff I ordered off e-bay will come while I'm gone so hopefully
the sellers dont' get upset that I don't reply right away when I get the
stuff!!!
AFAIK, we'll be going to Joe's again for Christmas dinner, so expect an
update then (after I free myself from the massive pile of SPAM I
accumulate in 4 days, heh)
Today is December 25. Merry Christmas...or something! I'm hanging out
at Joe Hostetter's casa once again. He's kindly letting me use the
computer to delete the 41 inches of SPAM that piled up. Heh
We've had three fun days of skiing. Chris is really kicking ass. He's a
fast learner and now a fast skiier! I'm also doing pretty well, no "Blue
square" runs yet, but I'm still having fun. We actually heard a ski
school guy tell his students to do "french fries" a la South Park. Back
on Saturday night, hope everyone's doing well.
Today is December 29. On the 26th and 27th we skiied at Keystone. I hated it at first
but then I thought it was really fun. We did the Schoolmarm run and
other runs that split and join with it. I particularly enjoyed
Silverspoon, if for no other reason than I can say "I licked the spoon" a
la the "I licked the Devil's Crotch" at Breckenridge. Ha, I crack myself
up.
Flight home was just fine. We saw the two (plus-size, fantasy-loving)
people that Chris sat by on the way out on our flight back. I waved at
them and I'm sure they had no idea who I was. I try to be friendly like
that.
Went to see The Two Towers
at the movie theater in Dillon on the 26th. It was sooo crowded. Some ugly
lady
even decided she was the boss of the line (and I use the term loosely
since it was just a big mass of people waiting to be seated for the
movie). It was really an exciting movie and I think I followed and
understood it well. After the movie we went to the City Market grocery
store where we had a hell of a time. It was busy (it's always busy) and
they had very few checkers open. We got in the "express" lane since we
only had like four things. The express aspect was dulled somewhat by
some inconsiderate people who had a CART full of items. I couldn't
believe the checker didn't make them leave. The checker, Carlos, was
very very slow and I didn't think he had what it takes to check on
express. I left the store with angry blood pulsing through my veins,
hating Carlos and everyone else in that store with a white-hot passion.
Saturday the 28th we shopped in the town of Breckenridge. I got some
shirts and stuff for myself and some nice gifts for others. Today I
checked my grades. They were pretty good. 2 A's, 1 A-, 1 B+, and a B-.
I plan to argue the B- up to a B. Since I was doing GREAT up until the
final, which kicked my angle side side all the way to crap-land. Peace
out, off to eat some lunch and watch Back to the Future on the DVD.
Ok, so I got side-tracked:
