december page

welcome to the december page, it's blank and dreary.
because my coding skills are weary.
and though color thrills the senses
it's really not the essence
we're talking content here
(though there be little, I fear

Poetry-slam inspired poem thingy to start out the lame december news page. [color &etc added later when putting entries in order] It snowed here Tuesday night. Like real snow, I would say at least six inches? Hang on, lemme check. Well the weather channel can't tell me how much precipitation, but I can tell you how much I walked through to get to the bus ;-)

Well, tune in tomorrow when I try to be less cheesy!

Today is December 9. Today I had a nice bout of some kind of agorophobia. Due to endless predictions of horrible weather, my lack of getting anything done, and general stress about the end of the semester, I WAS UNABLE TO LEAVE THE APARTMENT. It sucked bad. Tomorrow I have a counseling appointment at 11 am and my goal is to be there and on time. I've heard of people afraid to leave their home but never experienced it until today. I did at one point get the mail, but then I almost couldn't get back into the building for some key and or lock -related reason. So I panicked for a second then monkeyed the key around a little bit and opened the door. I *did* get my 486 done (finally) so I'm feeling good about that.

Today is December 16. This Just In: Pawn Shop Saves The Day. I was going to loan my copy of The Muppet Christmas Carol to Mathis's little girls to watch over Christmas. But then this morning, I couldn't find it in the apartment. Also I was thinking it would be kind of odd for a child to be loaned a movie, especially at this gifty time of year. So I decided to buy them their own copy. Easier said than done. I checked Best Buy, Borders, and Target. Not a trace, on DVD or VHS. (Best Buy doesn't even carry VHS anymore). So, on a longshot, I tried the pawn shop, well, not the real pawn shop but "Mr. Money." I walked in and there it was, on the first rack of tapes I saw! Yay! The case was kind of dirty but I didn't care. Mathis works at Perkins as well as the deli so I went over there to give it to him. He said they will really like it because the older one thinks Miss Piggy is the coolest.
