Today is December 6. Yesterday was a fun day. I knitted the cap part of the kitty hat, watched a bunch of Buffy (man that 4th season is addicting!) and ate dinner with my family. We had Valentino's pizza buffet and then went back to Grandpa's at watched the Simpsons and Arrested Development. Discovered that the brothers, Mike and Bill, both have a similar pattern with The Simpsons. Denounce to their kids, then actually watch it and laugh. So we made them watch it with us. And then Arr_Dev was super great as always but you know watching a TV show like that with a group, you're going to miss something. So I probably missed a few jokes, but I can catch them later.

Also I gave them their presents. Louie and Jay got A&F long-sleeved tees, Bill got the "so good you'll slap yo momma" tee from the Germantown Commisary, and Lisa got a rooster clock. Then as they were leaving I was trying to figure out if she was more into roosters or chickens or what, which inspired me to do the Frank Costanza bit on "there's a hen, a rooster, and a chicken. The hen goes with the rooster. So who's having sex with the chicken??" Then my grandpa started laughing b/c he is the Seinfeld Master. I got so excited. Someone actually *got* what I was quoting! I love you Grandpa =) Sometimes I have to laugh because he can hear better than my dad. I'll say something, Dad will say "what" and then Gpa will repeat it for him. It's probably not funny but I just get so sick of having to repeat myself around Dad. I think he automatically just says "what" after anything I say.

So that was a fun night. Tried to spend some time with Chris but the homework sitiation would not let me. I did visit Joe, to give him his doggie. Chris and Joe are both graduating in a couple weeks here, congrats! Also my cousin Eric is slated to don the cap and gown, then high tail it to Florida where his job with their Dept of Transportation awaits.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I'm starting a new project which is Acronym Insults. Here are some examples.

Here's the full list, some might not be for sensitive eyes. These are insults after all people! So I ask if you have any more to send them my way and I'll add to the list and give credit if desired. I can already tell you the IROC one comes from SNL and the Iowa one is from when we got new neighbors from Missouri and their oldest kid told me that little gem.

Today is December 8. I have made 3 hats "in the round" so far. 2 with plain black yarn and 1 with fuzzy. Fuzzy one came out really big; will have to adjust pattern if using that yarn. Addi turbos help with fast knitting.

So I found this site which has a bunch of acronym insults for cars. Be warned, a lot of them aren't very funny. I'm still looking for more, and don't limit yourselves to cars either! And for counterpoint we can remember that if someone calls you a Nerd they are saying that you're a NeverEnding Radical Dude.

Today is December 14. Today and Tomorrow I have off from work. Goals for today include laundry, paying bills, and buying pet supplies. So far the day has been spent figuring out how to make aliases in bash. Thanks to this dude I got it figured out. It's annoying since all the shells have different ways of formatting the alias, and what kind of .rc or whatnot file you have to put them in. Not helping matters is the fact that Darwin has not always been the bash shell (literally "Bourne again shell") so some of the "tips" for Darwin affect tcsh, not bash.

Calypso keeps eating styrofoam. This cannot be a good thing. Although I suppose we drink coffee out of styrofoam cups so it prolly isn't toxic.

Since everyone loves lists, I now present:
Hall and Oates songs I have sung to my cat, Calypso.
  1. "Private Eyes" Glowing cat eyes, they're watching you. They see you when you're nude This song was inspired by me getting ready for the shower and seeing the light reflecting off his eyes.
  2. "Rich Girl" Oh, you're a rich cat. And you've gone too far, and you know it don't matter anyway. You can survive on Rachel's money, you can survive on Rachel's money Dunno what inspired this one, but it did make me realize I've sung Hall and Oates songs to my cat *twice* and that is weird.
I personally love lists so much that I was re-reading my two SPIN List Issues one night before bed, causing me to have a dream about Chuck Klosterman. I hung out with him and his girlfriend, whose appearance and personality were completely invented by my mind. I think we were also on some kind of urban roller coaster, and an episode of Buffy.

Today is December 17. I just got 2 copies of the Jon Stewart issue of Rolling Stone from Half Price Books, who wants to touch me? I SAID I just got 2 copies of the Jon Stewart issue of Rolling Stone from Half Price Books, now who wants to touch me??? Seriously though if you would like the other copy email me and it shall be yours.
By "just got" that means last night. I used my christmas money from dad to buy a turntable from Radio Shack. After that I decided to go to HPB to maybe see about some new records. In addition to the mags, I got a little book about horses for my grandma and the 2 other Boston LP's. First record played on new player? Late for the Sky Jackson Browne. Woo. I sang the title track to my cat. He seemed unimpressed. After that song it was Close to the Edge, and the first Boston album, which I already had. (wanted to listen to them in order). I was blown away by how perfect that record is. Every song on there is awesome. Thinking about starting a band called Corporate Rock Will Never Die: A Tribute to Boston, Journey, Styx, and more. We could get up on stage and wear business suits and rock like none other. I already know Boston's "Amanda" and Asia's "Heat of the Moment." I would just need someone who could do the solos ;-)

Today is December 20. Oh it just turned 21st. Happy Winter Solstice to everyone. Found a solstice song from my pals in Jethro Tull (scroll down). I have the day off so I'll try to do something cool. I've been on a Homicide kick lately. In this scene, all the detectives are losing their shit. It's crazy. I've seriously been craving some Buffalo wings, or even better, boneless wings. I had to settle for a chicken breast with some ranch dressing on it.

Today is December 22. I'm at work, finising up my lunch break. First order of business, the Jon Stewart mag has been claimed by my pal Molly. Also this morning I found out our pal Mitch will be in tha Dee Moynz in February! Yay! At the Val Air, a mere stone's throw from my apt no less. So that will be fun. The last thing I wanted to mention is that I need to quit getting really excited when I *think* I have solved a problem, and save that for when I actually solve a problem.

Today is December 24. A pretty good day at work. Susie and I came in at 7am because the store opened at 8. We didn't have many customers at first but by 10, 11 it started hopping. The customers were mostly cool today. I guess Andy thought a lot of folks were really cranky and stressed yesterday but better today. We sold the last green mini that we had. A new trend is the kid (HS or Univ) that wants a Mac but the parent is all like "why a Mac, why not a 'regular computer'" So me and the kid have to try to convince them why the Mac. And I hate it when they call a PeeCee a "regular computer."

For info, I scanned that pic of Calypso in by taking a snap of it using one of the iSights at work. It could be a little sharper I suppose but I just wanted to test out the whole process. I am so getting an iSight once I get a new Mac.

So for my Christmas Eve dinner I enjoyed a TV dinner. I made some red Jell-O for Christmas dinner tomorrow at Rod and Rose's (I'm also going to make Shells and Cheese for that event). That's not til the night though. In the morning I'm meeting up with Bill, Lisa, Louie, and Jay and heading up to Grandpa's. I'm making cherry cheesecake for Gpa since it was one of his favorite Hy-Vee self serve case dishes ;-)

later Here's some more stuff I wanted to mention. I *almost* got to do a depot that would get sent back to the King of Prussia store. Recently I had been reading up on regional slang and so I knew that in Philly they call it Kinga Presha so I enjoyed myself saying Kinga Presha about a million times. But then the customer decided he would just wait and send it out from there when he got back home (as opposed to sending it out from JC and having it go back to KoP). Other funny Apple Stores? Short Pump Town Center and Walt Whitman. The mall Walt Whitman is on Long Island, NY, but there is also a bridge called Walt Whitman in Philly, which they call the Wall Women bridge. (Read more than you ever wanted to know about Philly dialects/slang here) Creeks are definitely the way to go for Apple Stores, though. Besides us, there's Barton, Cherry, Walnut, and of course Saddle (woot!)

Today is December 31. Last post of the year! Tonight I watched the Anchorman DVD and special features. I still have the other DVD ("Wake Up Ron Burgundy") and features but I have a sinking feeling that they are the same features as the regular movie. Anyway, the point is that Paul Rudd is super hot. Oh yeah, and there was a deleted scene that had Joe Flaherty.

I made a .Mac album for my custom dolls so you can go check that out. I did this with my *new digital camera* beeyotch. I'm planning to post an album of Calypso shots too, so stay tuned in the new year. When I promise, there will be a bgcolor ;-) Be honest with yourself, c'mon give us a try at Degrassi Freakin' Junior High!!! That's awesome. I can't wait to watch 'em again. Although it won't be the same in my living room compared to Mrs. Hemphill's guidance classroom. Also that reminds me of something - I saw some teen pop album entitled Breakaway and I was all like "Joey Jeremiah!" I think first they were called Zit Remedy then changed to Breakaway. Well I'll find out in February.
