Boy-crazy or altitude sickness? You make the call
Today is December 22. So I mentioned below that I've been watching a lot of cable.
Thanks to this, I now have a crush on Joel McHale, Snarkypants host of

I skiied! I'm a skiier!
Today is December 21. Title line is an homage to Bill Murray as Bob...why cant't I
remember his last name....well, you know, the titular character from What About Bob.
Anyway, he sailed! On his first try! And I have done remarkably well at skiing
this time 'round, even though it's been 3 years. I guess at this point I should
admit something. What I do, you really can't call "skiing." Most people live for
the thrill of rushing down the mountain. Me? I like to go sloooow. It's green
*only* as far as I'm concerned. I make my turns, carving my way down the steep
bits, hoping my knees don't give out. On the flatter parts, like the trails and
whatnots, I'm able to glide in a manner that is pleasing to me. I don't mean to
sound like a spoiled brat; complaining about my vacation. I'm actually having a
good time. I just don't want anyone out there thinking I'm some ace skiier,
catching air and attacking the double-diamonds.
What else is there to do in Colorado besides ski? Well, there is the ever-popular
celebrity hot tub parties, eating good food, working out at the Snap affiliate (I
found out it just opened in Nov), watching a TON of cable, and even taking in a
movie at
the local multiplex. Tonight my brother and I went to Walk Hard. I tell you, I
have been excited like a mofo for this ever since I saw the trailer at Superbad. I
honestly think of it as a worthy companion piece to Spinal Tap. Apatow's usual gang
of idiots gives great performances all around. Matt Besser in particular was pretty
amazing.
Some of the choices
were a bit off, I gotta say, although Justin Long and I *definitely* have an
appointment behind the middle school. And we always knew John Ennis was a rock
star!
For a comedy nerd like me,
I think they could have shoe-horned even more cameos in there. Patton as Meat Loaf?
Tina Fey as, I dunno, Toni Tennile or somebody? Why not. Ah, dude, no, Tina and
Amy as the chicks from Abba. Hell yes. Rachel Dratch could be Linda
Ronstadt.
I checked zap2it and I saw that the original, cartoon Grinch was on, so I'ma check
that out. Hope everyone is doing well. My friend one-L Jil who is watching C-po
sent me an awesome email (entirely in lolcat, no less) and a couple pix. I'm soooo
glad I didn't have to board the orange lad. omg you guys the grinch just took
the roast beast and the last can of who hash

Watching TV in a different time zone (sorta)
Today is December 17. Made it to Colorado just fine. After walking to the #1 bus,
switching to
the #8 bus, getting on a plane, and then riding in the pickup, I made it to Dillon.
Unfortuately the internet is not the strongest. Jonathan's mighty Macbook pulls it
in just fine,
but the Powerbook has proven to have a puny antenna. So he's kindly sharing his
baby with me.
Dad and Jonno are watching CSI. Be proud of me, I went to Snap tonight. They have
a Silverthorne
location that is pretty new.
Well tomorrow I tackle skiing again. Dad has said he will stay with me on the
'bunny' slopes so
I don't have to go too fast or get scared. I think we're going to Keystone.

I'm gon' miss you, gay pride parade
Today is December 16. I am going to Colorado tomorrow, for 9 days. The plan is to
ski and have fun with
my dad and brother. Also see my dad's friend Joe and inquire whether he his
pissedmendous about anything. Pissedmendous is a portmanteau meaning
tremendously pissed. Kidmendous means someone is a tremendous kid.
Calypso is staying home. My friends Jil and Kyrie are
going to
watch him while I am gone. I have a feeling I am going to miss him like crazy.
Maybe I should take along Shasta or Señor Stripey (yes I have Shasta and
Se&ntile;or Stripey in the apartment) so i am not so lonely.
I close on my house on 1/7/08. I am gon' miss my sweet luscious walk-in closet, and
also the hot tub where I would have celebrity
hot tub parties. And of course the apartment ladies, receiving my packages and
writing down my requests for things to be fixed. Oh, things being fixed. I think
I'll miss you most of all!
So as you may know, I haven't been skiing since 2003. I'm slightly worried that I
will have a bad time because of this. Hopefully some aspect of the working out will
transfer over to skiing. Dad says there was wireless at the motel last year that
Jonno was able to pull in, so that bodes well.

Today I Cooked Some Chicken
Today is December 2. Last night Jessica took me to a show at the Vaudville Mews
which was a tribute by Lesser Known Saint
to deceased Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell. LKS started out in Ames around the
time we were there, and now are based out of Minneapolis. I know "of" Pantera, and
I know their sound/style, but I don't know any of their songs. Well, I sort of know
Cowboys From Hell from Guitar Hero, but we all know what that's worth.
I'm watching a Family Guy repeat that I've never seen before. Me and C-po are on
the couch, pondering my future as a gnome-owner. I've made an offer that was
refused, but then slightly modified. We have a "selling price" people. It's
exciting times.
