Yacht Rock, fuck yeah
Today is January 28. Yacht Rock episode
11 went up today. To quote Rosanna Arquette: "IloveitIloveitIloveitIloveit!
[pounces on Steve (Agee) Porcaro]" Srsly. Watch it!
So as some of you may know, I asked one of my friends to be my roommate in the
house. He's living upstairs. I think it's going well so far. I was blasting some
Close to the Edge tonight, and there weren't any complaints. Also the family that
used to live here came by, and the older daughter sold me some Girl Scout cookies.
They changed the name of the Samoas this year, but I still found 'em. The girls
also petted C-po and I think he liked it. He's still kind of afraid of going
upstairs which is bizarre since he <3's Caylor and all. He's a goofy gus.

Bloggin' atcha Live
Today is January 17. Been sleeping at the house since Saturday night. Dad and I
moved a TON of stuff on Saturday, and then more on Sunday. Everything is basically
over here except for red leather couch. Qwest told me my services wouldn't be up
and running until tomorrow (Friday) at 5pm, but for some reason the internet is on
now. Hell, it might have been on the whole time for all I know. I just tonight
brought over the phone and modem. Although I suppose it's for the best; otherwise I
would have been wasting time on the 'net all week instead of unpacking and
whatnot
Obviously there's still a TON of stuff to unpack. I bought a big antenna for my
roof (over-the-air-channels, what what) and now I just need to have someone install
it. Most people in the neighborhood have little dishes, but the person just north
of me has a similar antenna as mine. This gives me hope that it is a good solution
for tee vee. With the antennas I have now (small indoor jobbies that plug right
into the tv) I can pull in 5-8-11-13 reasonably wel, but there's major ghosting on
17 and 23. This is unfortunate because those are the channels I seem to watch the
most. Also, the Super Bowl is on Fox (17) this year so I'll want to get that
straightened out before the game. Or, just, go to a bar or something I s'pose
;-)
So far my challenges have been: the hot water in the shower isn't very hot, the
7:30 bus didn't come today and I had to wait almost an hour for the next one, and I
had to **shovel** today! For the bus thing, I can actually walk like 3 blocks to a
different bus stop (on an alternate route) but today was so snowy I didn't feel like
it. I guess you probably gathered that from the 'snowy' bit in the previous
sentence.
Right now I'm just hard boiling some eggs in my Egg
and Muffin toaster. (they let the awesome domain "eggandmuffintoaster.com"
expire, so you can't go do the flash movie of putting together an egg and muffin
sandwich, boo). Then I kind
of want to go around to different areas of the house and see where the wireless
signal comes in. Hopefully? Everywhere.
one more thing yesterday, Calypso (a/k/a Cosy Pal) got up on top of the
fridge, and went into this cupboard thing that's on there. He came out COVERED in
dust bunnies. So for the time being he is dirtcat.

The Dude(tte) Owns
Property!
Today is January 7. I closed on the house today. Good feelings. I took 6 boxes of
stuff over today in the Sable. The plan is to take boxes and such over during the
week, and then on Saturday, my dad will come down with the pickup and we'll start
taking the furniture. Of course, that means I'll have to get all the stuff *off*
the furniture (i.e., dvds and books off shelves, layers of crap off desks, tables).
Today at work I was actually able to handle an on-call call by myself. We're
basically the Tier Two. Express users aren't calling our number, it's the
first-line support guys & gals. Long story short, my suggestion worked. Also I
have the ability now to check my work e-mail from home. I've done it a couple
times, no big whoop.
Once I get all moved in, the plan is to buy a washer & dryer set. I also will need
a second couch. Possibly a big-ass sectional? We shall see.

Force-flex to all, and to all a good night
Today is January 1. Last night it was cold and snowy out so I decided just to stay
in. My pal Caylor and I hung out and had traditional party food (cheese and
crackers, what) and some variety of Smirnoff Ice that put us in mind of Homer's
favorite dreamed-up beverage, Skittlebrau.
plus we had carrots and broccoli and apples too, so nyeah. Played some SSX3,
so I was finally vindicated from my humiliating defeats at Super Smash Bros.
So today the great move-out begins. I've already started. In the form of putting my Buffy comics up
on Craigslis and preparing CD jewel cases for recycling. One of the sites I
found mentioned taking old jewel cases to the library (to replace their
perpetually-broken cases) so I will give Franklin Ave. a call tomorrow and see if
they could use something like that. After that I'm gonna get some big garbage sacks
out (hence the title) and just start chuckin' stuff in there.
I take posession of the house on the 7th, but I essentially have the apartment
through January. Hopefully my dad will let me borrow his two-wheeler to
make it easier on me'self.
