Editor's note...at this point the author made some disparaging comments about the Wintel P.O.S. she was working on, and Telnet promptly crashed! Cosmic irony, or yet another example of the superiority of the Macintosh? You be the judge...Now I'm at home. I coudn't finish my update-from-work because the computer there was being weird. The main thing I wanted to say today is that I burned my tongue. Other than that, I'm loaded and rollin'. (ok neither, I'm sitting on the floor watching TV)
Today is February 18. The image to your left is the "Baby Floppy Bee"
from
Manhattan Toy Company. Yes, I stole the image from their site. But
I did edit it myself with Painter Classic. Anyway, I like this bee a
lot. I bought him in
Carmel, California, at a very cool store...whose name totally
escapes me. The name he came with was "Benjamin" which I remember
because at the time I was working with a nice guy named Ben, so it kind
of stands out in my mind. I renamed him Bernardo, I think because
all of my stuffed bees get Hispanic names. "It's a bear...but it's a bee! See, he looks like a bear with his little face, but you can see he's really a bee. But it's not hidden, it's there for all to see!"Eventually she had to be subdued.
"He's protected from 3 inch bees, that's right. It was great. The bees were attatched to the hat with different lengths of fishing line. When the guy danced around, the bees moved. The effect was quite comical. I hope they show it again so I can tape it.
He's protected from 3 inch bees, tonight!
A 3 inch bee can't sting this guy!
A 3 inch bee shouldn't even try!
He's protected from 3 inch bees, that's right!"
