Meow Down Before The One You Purr |

Today is February 17. Went to see NIN last night with Molly at Wells Fargo Arena.
Was supposed to be with Jess and her friend Kyle too, but due to circumstances we
did not all 4 meet up. (Fun fact: there is a Wells Fargo Arena in Phoenix,
AZ--prior residence of Molly--as in DSM) At the risk of hyperbole, it was probably
the most powerful experience I have ever had at a concert. "Hurt" literallly moved
me to tears. I know I've heard that song before, it was just like with all the
people there, and the energey/emotion....I think it was the line "If I could start
again/a million miles away/I would keep myself/I would find a way" that really got
to me.
We were on the floor but sort of stayed to the back - near where the sound boards
were set up, but off to the left side. Today I downloaded "Live: And All That Could
Have Been" from iTMS - 5.99! Can't beat that. And, no, the "sore" in the mood
field isn't laziness in forgetting to change it from the last entry, it's an
accurate description of my neck after headbanging. Er, maybe not headbanging, but
severe rocking out and dancing.
Lately I'm getting into all these bands that became big when I was in junior high
and high school, and I'm completely wishing that I would have been into them back
then!! Particularly Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, and now NIN. On the bright side,
it is never really 'too late' to start liking a group, other than not being able to
see them live in concert, in some cases. The albums are there as a permanent thing
and you can experience it in your own time, whether that happens to be 94 or 06.
