Today is March 5, a.k.a. Sore Feet Day. I just want to put a couple of links here:

Today is March 6. My mom is in the hospital. I'm kind of freaked out but instead of dealing with my feelings, all my mind can do is think of web pages I would like to create. Examples:
  1. The X-Files/Taurus Connection. This would be a page that lists all the sightings of the Ford Taurus on the television program The X-Files. Right now I know of three right off the top of my head.
  2. Know your Taurus Hubcaps. This would be part of the existing Taurus Club Homepage, as would the above page. I would go take pictures of Taurus hubcaps from all the different models, and then label them with the appropriate year. Then people would be able to tell what year a Taurus was just by looking at its hubcaps. Assuming they were the originals, and not lifted from another Taurus, of course.
  3. Advice That Rhymes On NewsRadio, Mr. James instructed a therapy-session bound Dave to, "Let it out or sweat it out." To which Dave replied, "You know how I love advice that rhymes." So I decided to think of all the advice that rhymes that I could, and make a web page out of it. I have about eight examples so far.
  4. Think Different, Dammit: The Militant Mac Page I don't really know what I would have for content, I just thought that would be an excellent title.

Today is March 11. Mom is back from the hospital. She went to Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota on Wednesday. There they did some procedures and she is much better now. She has to go back in 2 weeks for a check-up or more tests or something. Thanks to all who came and visited while she was in Mary Greeley, and to all of those who prayed for her. I could definitely feel the presence of the Lord when I was there with Mom. Of course, the fact that St. Mary's is a Catholic hospital probably helped that, but still. Mega props to all-round cool dude Chaplain Dave for all his help and support too.

As you know, I like to find that little bit of joy in all things. Jonathan and I got the opportunity to view many outstanding mullets whilst in MN. At first, I didn't believe him when he told me he had been seeing people sporting what I had come to think of as a southern hairstyle in "The Land of 10,000 Lakes." Then, after I had been in Minnesota for a while, I remembered why a mullet is also called a "Canadian Passport."

So, to summarize: Mom is fine, for the most part, I'm still at school for another stinkin' week before Spring break, and there are no fan sites for the show Blossom. Oh yeah, and my second South Park archive tape is full. Commerical-free, too, I might add.

Today is March 14, 3/14. Happy Pi Day! Here are some links to help you celebrate.
  1. Send a Blue Mountain Pi Day card
  2. 123 greetings has more Pi Day cards
  3. Pi around the world! from Yahoo Greetings
  4. Still more Pi Day Cards from TheGreetings
  5. Also from Yahoo!, many fabulous Pi links
  6. Last but not least, the best Pi page ever, The Garden of Eden, run by an insanely cool lady named Eve. You will like her, most people do. Her page is even featured in my HTML book.
Today I took a linear algebra test (appropriate, eh?) and it actually went pretty well, so yay me. Also you can read about my friend, Eddie.

Today is March 19. My mom is back in the hospital, but it's not serious. She just needs some more medication, and she needs to follow her doctor's orders. Let that be a lesson to all of you. Of course, here I am, the girl who left her meds in her dorm room over spring break. Oops...Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm on spring break. So this update is coming to you courtesy of the Ames Public Library.
Thanks to all who read this little journal, or weblog, as it also could be called.
In other news, I bought the X-Files season two on DVD. It was a considerable chunk o'change, but I think it was worth it. It will definitely help me on my quest to find all the Tauruses that Mulder and Scully drive.
Also, Jonathan and I decided on a permanent name for Kitty Kitty. We realized we could only call her that until she grew up to become a cat. After she has been to the vet, we will call her Magellan. I think it's a pretty cool name, and it fits her well. (She is all black with green eyes). It's sufficiently mystical without being too weird.

Today is March 23, but almost the 24th. I'm watching one of my favorite shows, Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He makes me feel funny, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class! They were doing a little bit relating to a very cool 80's band, Men Without Hats.

We had a *kick ass* S.U.B. Film tonight: Cemetary Man. Or, as it was called in Italian, Dellamorte Dellamore. It was very funny, weird and gory. There were four of us showing the movie and seven that came to see it. (Any time the guests out number the crew it is a good night!) And of course I was the only chick in the whole Pioneer room. And that's...okay. All four of us SUB kids enjoyed the movie immensely.
Rupert Everett was the title character who works in a cemetary and has to kill the living dead. He also gets it on with a young widow, which causes me, in light of the man's sexual preference, to exclaim "ACTING!" a la Jon Lovitz. Hehe.

Today is March 24, for real. Just wanted to add one thing. Today I saw a shirt that had "Ames, Iowa" printed on it, along with a picture of a shark. No, actually I think there were two sharks. WHY??

Today is March 27 and I'm at work! Somehow it became part of my job to make web pages...no lie ;-) Here is the work in progress: Fort Dodge Workforce 2010
An interesting story from yesterday. I was leaving the capitol when I saw a four Asian people on the steps taking photos. As I walked past them, I wondered if they would like a picture of all of them together. They said yes, so I took 2 pictures for them, one with this tiny cool-looking Canon, and another with a disposable with foreign writing on it. It felt nice to do a good deed.
Shameless plug of the day: Go to Interstate for all your battery needs. I got my watch battery replaced there yesterday, and the guys there were very helpful.

Today is March 28. Can't believe it's almost time for a new news page (Yes that's how I measure time now....not in months so much, but new news pages).
Check out the Communist Page. I felt the urge to update it because 1, it looked ugly, and 2, we're studying McCarthyism in History 114. We read about Julius and Ethel Rosenberg and it made me sad. Even if they were guilty, it's still sad.
In other news: Mom went back to Rochester for more vein-gluing, and tomorrow I will go on a dinner date with my beloved Mary Klemesrud. Ok, so we're just going to eat somewhere on the way to Fort Dodge, but I can dream, can't I? Did I mention that she even loves Star Wars, and Empire is *her* favorite chapter of the saga too??!
Important Three-Inch Bee Related News!! They are re-running the episode of Conan with the Guy that's protected from three-inch bees. You can read all about this marvelous man in February's News. Everyone watch it and rejoice! That is all.

Today is March 29. Guy that's protected from three-inch bees was taped successfully last night. Let that be a lesson to all of you to check the Conan Page even if it's a re-run week. The only problem with the whole thing is that now my roommate thinks I'm insane. (She didn't believe me that the little 3-inch bees were Bernardo, either). Also now I have to revise my account of said Bee-guy.

His suit was more of just chicken wire wrapped around him, with little cages on his hands and feet, and something like a tomato cage (you know, a cage you put your young tomato plant in so it has support while it grows) on his head. Also, the 3-inch bees on fishing line were not, as I reported before, attatched to his hat. Rather, they were suspended from the ceiling. That makes more sense, actually.

So now I have it on tape, and as soon as I figure out how to use my Avid Cinema I will make a little Quicktime movie of it. Bitchin'.
