Today is April 1. Mom's back in Rochester and it seems like things are getting worse, not better. They just keep finding more things that are wrong. Like now she might need a liver transplant. It's really scary.

On a lighter note, I joined a Yahoo club, KittyWhiskas They are a good bunch all about love for cats! I highly encourage anyone who enjoys talking about cats to join up.
Also I have made some changes to the site. I dropped the links to my sponsors from the main page (they are still on the site though: Kitties, Cheese, and of course Pawn Shops) Also I removed the links to my friends' sites in favor of a new feature called "Friend Link of the Week." I felt bad for not having a link to all my friends with homepages so I decided to do one at a time.
The other new thing is in my title I will put some of my favorite Rush lyrics...and other quotes. These will change from time to time as I see fit.

Other news: I have decided to declare Computer Engineering. The downside of this is that I waited too long and now it's all backed up and I can't register yet. So that's not too cool. I'm really going to miss my awesome Advisor from when I was Undeclared. But it's a time for striking out in a direction, a time to stop being afraid.
And what the heck, if I stink as a CprE, I'm going to try my hand at Advertising Not as a cop-out, by any means, I know it will be challenging as well.

Last thing...I found this site called Losers dot org, which is a big ol' listing of loser web sites, divided into categories. Not as good as Jimski's weird links because their descriptions aren't as complete, but fun nonetheless. Until, that is, I realized that I have pages that could fit into sooo many of their categories. Like I have this journal, for starters. Also, there are many things that would qualify me as "obsessed" like my collection of pineapple recipes, and a page about my computer is definitely nerdy.

Today is April 3. Is it possible to OD on Mike and Ikes? I don't know because they don't even have a website for M&I yet! Although apparently M&I are "the choice of NASCAR." That's good to know. JustBorn used to have a lot more flavors of their candy, like Jolly Joes, Cherri and Bubb, Lem and Mel. Plus Hot Tamales which I don't really like. "They're too hot!" (say in voice of Ross from "Friends"...he thinks ice cream is too cold)
It was so nice out today! Spring soon =)
Who wants to come to Minneapolis with me to see Journey? July 22nd at the Target Center. It will be fun fun!

Did you know you are under surveilance by The Government and also Micro$oft? Yes! Go to The Terraserver and type in your town. Then you can do a little zooming and find your house, just like I found mine. Pretty freaky.

Today is April 7. So much has happened in the past few days that I don't even know where to start. Everything certainly does suck though!

Let's start at the beginning, Wednesday the 4th. It was a pretty normal day, I went to history and math, then over to the capitol. When I got home from work, there was a phone message saying that I needed to call home or call Chaplain Dave. I had left my cell phone out in the car, so I had no way of calling long distance, and I didn't call him right away. I was getting changed to go to my night class when I got another hone call. It was someone from the capitol, also saying that I needed to call home

Well, this meant it was serious. I called my home collect, and Chaplain Dave answered. He said that Mom was "a pretty sick lady" and that I needed to go to rochester to be with her and Dad. I quickly packed up some stuff and bought some C-Store snacks for the ride.

When I got home, Amy, Dave , and Jonno were there. Dave took me aside and told me what was up...then he said the magic words, "not much time left" and I basically lost it. Jonno and i drove up to Rochester, and he told me that Dave had told him "two months." So the whole car ride we were thinking the time fram was like two months.

When we got there, Mom was sleeping or otherwise out of it. her breating was very labored even though she had an oxygen tube in her nose. Dad told us then that she had only about two days left. This was quite a shock needless to say. Two months had been a shock but it's different when you actually see the person. Maybe an hour later uncle Rod (mom's bro) Aunt Rose, and Grandma Hazel got there and we all stayed up most of the night with Mom.

She passed away quietly at about 7:15 on Thursday morning. Then Dad and Jonno and I slept for awhile so we wold be okay to drive the 3 hours home. People have been very kind about visiting. I don't know if it's really sunk in yet though. Just don't bring any more food or I'm going to end up like Gavin! (KITH fans will know what I mean.) Wait a minute, maybe that means Dave Foley will come to my house wearing a suit....yeah! The only really sucky thing is that Daisy Pitter died this afternoon too. So we miss her, but now she gets to be with Mom. That is all for now.

Today is April 16. I'm back in fabulous Des Moines. Things are getting better, a little bit everyday. I'm trying to catch up on my schoolwork and whatnot, also trying to find a job for the summer. The Ames Tribune site is a good place to start your job search in central Iowa.

Fun stuff: Saturday night I went to Trainspotting and a whole bunch o' my friends were there....Scott, Peter, Jason, Lorigb, and Nicky. After the film we went to Towers and roasted Peeps! We roasted them over a grill, with a real live fire, for the purpose of eating them (they were yummy). Others try to burn Peeps for the purposes of Science.
Today is April 20. Really good Simpson quote page
Presidential Pineap Here is a pineapple looking very presidential

Today is April 25. The fun and madness of Drake Relays have descended upon us. Sure it's exciting, but there's no where to park =)
Things are moving right along with Fort Dodge Workforce 2010. *finally!* Well actually I'm glad they got the kinks ironed out at the beginning before they got too far into the process.
Do you love that song Popcorn by Hot Butter? I know *I* do!
In other news, I'm going to visit my friend Laura Joy this weekend at the University of Iowa. Should be a good road trip and nice time to hang out w/my buddy!

Today is April 29. I had a really good weekend.

Friday: went to Iowa City as promised. Trip east was uneventful other than morons at the gas station. When I got to Laura's dorm, my first item of business was to see how my Blues did. She took me to a cool computer lab which featured, among other things, all five flavors of iMac DV's. (You can tell the difference from the original flavored iMacs because the colored casings aren't as shiny. Once I was confident of a Blues victory, we went out to eat. Then we walked around downtown Iowa City, then retured and watched an hilarious movie musical called Thoroughly Modern Millie. It's so incredibly silly, you must see it. I even found some Millie links, a page for Carol Channing, and one for Julie Andrews. Seriously, you will laugh your ass off at this movie. It takes place in the "roaring 20's" and the songs are the cheesiest!

Saturday: Well, I woke up, won really cool pineapple lights from eBay. Then I had the lovely drive back to DSM, followed by a much-needed nap! That evening, I went to Ames and visited my friend Joe. We watched Ghostbusters on DVD and ate chocolate pudding. He told me of his romantic woes, which basically boil down to the fact that girls are always attracted to him (I can personally vouch for this...hehe) but there's only one he truly cares about....and she doesn't really even know he's alive. Sounds like the same old song and dance, I know, but for Joe it doesn't seem like a cliché. I hope things work out for him & the girl in question, he's a great friend and such a sweetie!

Sunday: Went to my cousin Emily's Confirmation at Bethesda Lutheran. It was a nice service but a little weird, I guess I am just used to good ol' traditional Immanuel. And I found out Em is into Sailor Moon and other Anime, so that made me happy =) After that, I dropped by the wonderful world of Rowe and visited cool girls like Regan and Carol. It will be weird not to live on Rowe anymore but I think Westgate will be cool. Only 2 more weeks of school, I can't believe how fast this semester went!!!
