Today is April 2. No 'fools prank yesterday because I am lazy, and i couldn't really think of anything funny. Come to think of it, when has that ever stopped me from journaling in the first place? Heh. I have this Friday night off, but unfortunately it will be spent working on senior design crap. Our final paper is due Tuesday, which seems early to me. I'm kind of confused as to what we're supposed to do for the rest of the month/semester.

update I really need some of those peanut butter cookies that come 2 to a package from vending machines and convenience stores.

Today is April 5. Saturday worked, then watched Rabbit-Proof Fence for SUB. A great film, definitely worth seeing. It's <100 minutes long which means it didn't drag on forever as "important" movies like to. And no rabbits were harmed, which is good. Since it's a true story, at the end they offer a few facts, rest-of-the-story type things, and you're left going "The government was doing this HOW long?" Yeah, up until the 1970's, it said. The young actresses that played Molly, Daisy, and Gracie were so amazing, too. I think being in a project like that would change their lives forever. On a lighter note, [during the movie] I did get to eat the pb cookies mentioned on April 2, along with some new kind of Sprite. It seems as thought Sprite is getting into the quality mixer business, what with the tropical Sprite Remix and now this berry one. Just begging to be stirred in with some type of booze.

Yesterday ate some Thai food and then rented videos. Accidentally grabbed Smokey and the Bandit III, luckily realized this in the parking lot before I had even started the car, so I was able to exchange it for the original.

Today is April 7. So the 5th was 3 years ago that we lost Mom (didn't realize it until i was sitting in group, when I was telling them how i had found these 2 random e-mails from her on my isua server) and we're pretty sure 10 years from the death of Kurt Cobain. So a sad day of remembering for many people.

Yesterday I went in to work b/c Greg D. asked me to sub for him, but then there was a 2:00 person who just didn't show up. So I get there about 5:45 (after band) and it's just Meyer and Dan D. and the place is going crazy. Tasty Tuesday, and the 2.99 cheap bastard salad bar special is in high gear. So many complaints we get, because people think we are the ones in charge of salad bar. A particularly nasty guy smacked his hand on top of the ice tea dispenser and demanded "Young man! [to Dan D.] You're out of chicken!" or something stupid like that. As he walked away, I said (half to myself, and half to the customers i was ringing up) "We aren't in charge of the salad bar, and your tone is really uncalled for." The people I was waiting on sympathized with me, I think. Whenever I dis a customer in front of some other customer, I always take care to separate them from the one I am complaining about, like "You would never act like that, you seem nice," or "You have more sense then that, I can tell."

In other news, I think it would be really hot if they had some "behind the scenes" type stuff on the Mr. Show 4th season DVD set, that includes Tom and Jill making out.

Today is April 9. If my life had a movie trailer, it would begin:
In a world...where bedsheets are considered proper attire...
Note, in this world, fried ham is also considered part of this balanced breakfast. Er, brunch. more later Actually, I didn't write any more later that day. But it ended up a really good day because me and Jess went down to the House of Bricks for a concert featuring these kewl guys from Ephraim Zenh. Corwin's band, Parallex played first, then some losers from Seattle, and finally EZ. They played a little Rush during their soundcheck, and then "Whole Lotta Love" and "Communication Breakdown" during their actual set. Good times had by all.

Today is April 12. Yesterday went to Grandma Rose and Grandpa Harold's for Easter dinner. It was just the two of them, my dad, and me. Work was really slow so we were having screwin around fun times.
Rachel Doesn't Know How To Act Around Old People, Part I
After Easter dinner, the four of us were watching some stand-up on Comedy Central. Some comedian was talking about E, and for some reason, I felt the need to try to explain it to my grandma. (I still can't believe my dad hasn't called me to yell at me for doing this)

Rachel Doesn't Know How To Act Around Old People, Part II
Today I was at Grandma Hazel's house, for dinner and baking banana bread. We were watching America's Funniest Home Videos on Pax, and there was the typical video where some guy gets hit where it counts. Gma must have missed part of it (she was in and out between the kitchen and living room) and she asked what happened to him, and I said, "Oh, he got hit in the nuts." Probably not the most...sensitive...word choice ;-)

Today is April 13. A thing I stole from this person, found while perusing Jess's "friends page" on Crazylife. As you can see, it was part of a big quiz survey but I didn't feel like filling it all out or nowt.

Today is April 21. Rachel and Tuttle fixed Swoopy's power corde[s] today. We took 2 busted yo-yo power adapters and made one big honkin one! I learned the fine art of soldering. Or I held the wires while he did the soldering. And when he had shaky hands, trying to hold the pen/gun thing, I was like "GT's got the DT's" and he thought that was funny, I guess.

AAAnd, it goes without saying that once I got Swoopy charged 'n' ready, it was Panther time. I'm slowly figuring stuff out. I got terminal to work so I could do my usual isua stuff. Kerberos is in my startup items, and I made a .term file so all I have to do is click on it (after getting tickets) and I'm signed in to vincent. Yay.

Today is April 25. This just in, skirts make dandy tube-tops. I couldn't find my black strappy tank to wear under my black gauzy top, so i improvised with a black matte jersey skirt. Worked like a charm! So I was gorgeous for the band concert, with my stevie style and fake hair clip thingy. Concert band played Chorale and Shaker Dance, while Jazz II included "Moanin'" in their set, thus truly making Iowa State " The high school after high school." (Watch the MST3K short where they take on a home economics film from 1950's Iowa State College if you don't know what I'm talking about.)
