There are seven ducks out there
mood:   exhauted
And they all want Sunchips! Today is April 1. For this month I will try to have some nice Mitch quotes for you. To remember the greatness.

And some stuff goes here about how busy we were at work, and how we had people in the store til like 9:30, and I had a ton of stuff to do. But luckily I don't have to open tomorrow morning (as was the trend for awhile) Look, I was so "exhauted" that I couldn't even spell right

The context for ducks/sunchips is that he wanted to give some bread to a duck and the subway lady said if it was like 2 dollars , but once he said it was for a duck, she just gave it to him. So he figured out ducks eat for free at subway.

This shirt is dry clean only
mood:   relaxed
Which means, it is dirty. Today is April 5. Had a pretty good day at work. I pulled the drive out of an iBook to get some data off it for these ppls and then put it back together to send to depot. Also we have a PowerMac G4 that starts up just by plugging it in! It's so amazing. So amazing that we have to stop it before it gets out of control!

Speaking of out of control (segue into a discussion of my Arrested Development obsession) Here are a couple things I wanted to share. First thing - when did Buster start calling "The Army" just "Army." Like in the first episode of the season he says "Mom volunteered my for the army just because the fat man dared her to" but then in later episodes he mentions that "Army had a half-day" and that the plush toys are "awards. From Army." (Sidebar - I really want a seal wearing a t-shirt like the Marksmanship award) MY THEORY is he dropped the article when he started lying about being in [the] army. Like a nervous-Busty type thing.

Other thing. Watched the movie PCU the other day. I had picked it up from half.com some time ago, never got it watched. Renewed interest upon learning of Lucille in the cast. I am pleased to bring you the following AD/PCU Connections.
  1. Jessica Walters - Lucille Bluth, Andrea Garcia-Thompson (PCU President)
  2. Becky Thyre - Waitress for Klimpy's and Skip Church's, Moonbeam (leader of Causeheads)
  3. "Afternoon Delight" - unfortunate karaoke choice, torture song
How cool.

I had an ant farm
mood:   hot
Them fellas didn't grow shit! Today is April 11. So lately I've gotten quite a bit done on Fake Energy. Obviously still need the codes like you see above for members to put on their websites. I was trying to check on other Cast Commentary fanlistings to see what type of images they used for their codes, but the LotR and HP commentary fanlisting sites are both down. This probably does not bode well for FE. Although I did get my form working thanks to the cool scripts Pair gives us users. Yay Pair!

Right now, I'm watching Conan. It is pretty warm in the apartment. I'm not sure how "hot" counts as a mood but yeah it's warm in here so there you go. This is a re-run from the "I'm gonna go to hell when I die" era which is always good. Also the band played Conan over to the desk with "Suffragette City." And he accidentally said "Connecticut energy" instead of Kinetic. That's cute.

Speaking of funny stuff. Molly and I saw Dane Cook at Stephens on Saturday night. It was friggin sweet. He has some serious energy, Connecticut or otherwise, while performing on stage. Supporting him on the tour were Gary Gulman, awesome, Robert Kelly, crazy funny, and another guy whose jokes were not so much funny, and also weirdly racist and homophobic. Gary and Robert did a bunch of jokes about food. Dane Cook ruled. He did tons of new stuff, but then would do a classic bit and we would hear him start to talk about tires and just freaking lose it. We were sitting by some ppl who had good Dane quotes on their tees. Such as - Your Move Holy Man or Ummm Hello?. After the show Molly took me to the Main Street Brewery which was pretty neat. Felt a little out of place since it was kinda fancy and grownup like. A tasty brew and some good tunes.

I need to figure out why it's so hot in here. Yesterday there were some Wasp Issues. Have to get ahold of maintenance or just a brave person with a broom.

If You Want To Talk To Me After The Show
mood:   relieved
I'll be, fuckin, surprised. (During this joke, he points to the back) Today is April 12. A couple guys from maintenance just came and sprayed some wasp spray on my porch. Also I think they did something to the tub, to help it drain. Today has been spent watching the movie Garden State. Also the deleted scenes and the commentary with Zach Braff and Natalie Portman. Pretty good movie. Sorta depressing. Not only because of how the screwed-up people find love and happiness (which will never happen to me) but also how friggin genius ZB is and only being a little older than me. So yeah. It was a well-done movie. It had cats.

I backed up my user directory ("rachel") from Swoop onto my USB drive so that when I get my copy of Tiger I can do a clean install. For some reason that appeals to me. Also I was messing around on the guitar and made a nifty chord progression. Possibly to be used with David's emo-ass blog entry as lyrics. Not sure.

later I find it entertaining that ratshack.com has not been registered. I like the way it sounds. Just the word ratshack. Ok, I should probably get out of the house for awhile now.

I don't know if Carmex will actually heal a cold sore
mood:   worried
But it will make them shiny and more noticeable. Maybe they could have an arrow that heals cold sores. Today is April 19. Happy bday to Jason - whatever he's up to these days. The system, she is down. Luckily I was able to join one of the many, many unprotected wireless networks in this building. Probably due to the shakeup from a while ago where I dropped MSN (since I wasn't using it). Either that or the bill I never paid for March. It seemed too high so I didn't want to pay it.

The latest song I'm obsessing over is "Nights On Broadway" by the Bee Gees. I even found a mini-version by Reueben Studdard. He does a good job. I decided I would be a bad American Idol voter because I would vote for the songs not the performances. Like if someone did a great job singing a lame song I wouldn't even care. But back to Nights On Broadway. Yes, my obsession stems from The Barry Gibb Talk Show. But it really is a cool song. It wasn't even in Saturday Night Fever (well not on the sdtrk anyway) which surprises me.

The interviewer asked, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
mood:   calm
"Celebrating the 5-year anniversary of you asking me this question." That one's for Brent, going on his many interviews. Today is April 21. Was Snoop Dogg in your mall yesterday? Snoop was in our mall yesterday. Alog with The Game, and their respective crews/posses.

It's been raining quite a bit here lately. It can be calming and relaxing. Today Lawrence and I were singing some Beastie Boys tunes. At one point I called the shipping-receiving extension from the Applecare room and just started singing Paul Revere. It was fun. I put a new screensaver on all the machines all by myself. And last night I did a credit card approval via touch-tone phone. So, some good days at work.

Tonight I watched The Last Picture Show. A really outstanding cast, some great performances there. Movie is a little slow at the beginning but good overall. Similar in tone to Paper Moon, also by P Bo.

I got into an argument with a girlfriend in a tent
mood:   happy
And I tried to slam the flap. How do you express anger in this situation? Zip it up real quick?? Today is April 23. I'm re-watching the Jason Bateman episode of SNL just because I enjoyed it that much the first time. I worked today. It was pretty busy. When I was walking through the mall after lunch it was like solid toddlers and senior citizens. (With the parents / adult children DRAGGING them through the mall of course). So before I clocked back in, I had to watch sbemail61, aka "Monster Truck" just so I could hear "KIDS AND OLD PEOPLE - NOT ALLOWED!" Try yelling it Strong Bad style... "Kids and old people - not allowed!" Also at one point I tried to open the parts cage with my housekeys. Didn't work so well.

I made a yummy sandwich on my forman grill - heated/toasted the turkey, then made it like a grilled cheese sandwich with turkey and american cheese. Kitty tried to lick the plate after the sandwich was done. In other news, I reset my wireless modem and now my network is called BluthCo and only Swoopy's MAC address is allowed. (evil laugh)

I used to be a hot-tar roofer.
mood:   indescribable
Yeah, I remember that...day. Today is April 27. I had 2 days off. How do you like to spend your days off? Apparently I like to spend mine totally crampin', lying on the couch with my heating pad and watching my Homicide DVDs. The 2nd day (Tuesday) I felt better so I visited some differnt types of shops: pawn, 2nd-hand video game, thrift, antique, and flea market. At the Goodwill I found 3 Bill Cosby records that had been retired from the Urbandale library. They're a little scratchy but seem to play "ok." Found some piney stuff at the antique store too.

I was totally dreading going to work today - mostly due in part to a repair that went badly on Friday/Sunday. Then it ended up being a fun and easy day at work. Tiger day is coming soon. We have lots to do to get ready. But I think it will be fun.

If I was an animal I'd like to have a beaver for a friend.
mood:   tired
They have some kickass houses. That shit is on the lake. "Lakeside" my ass, "Lake ON" Today is April 30 and that is the last day in April so the last Mitch quote for a title. Inspired by a discussion Jill and I were having with netflix movies. Her sister had rented an IMAX movie on Beavers.

Tiger Launch went fine. There were some jerks, but hey, when are there not jerks. Today was pretty busy too. Seemed to be lots of rich people with attitude. At one point I commented to Susie "There's a lot of upper income bracket type people here. They don't have a lot of disregard for us lower folks." Yes. Disregard. Proof that I shouldn't be laughing too hard at Overheard In New York. I'm so hooked on that site. Brent is making little banners with a pic of his choosing and a good quote. Here's one I thought up:

Thought I had more to type here. Guess not. See you in May.
