In a world....where picnics start at 10:30 AM

Just a quick thing. (This came about from reading Tavie's story about her mom outbidding her for something on eBay) My mom's eBay handle was macmom50. Even after all these years, that still makes me happy. Enjoy the screenshot of Panther running on Swoop. I helped her make up the name. I don't know that she was quite 50 yet when we set up the account, so it was likely a reference to her birth year rather than her age. I still remember her computer passwords too. All of a sudden I don't remember her yahoo and that is making me panicky. Someone...anyone?

I'm a real weird girl....and I vote

Today is July 22. It has been a nice weekend, weather-wise. Sleeping with the windows open is my favorite. I wish I could do it year-round but obviously some nights it is just way too hot.

On Friday I went to hear Bill Richardson speak int he cafeteria of a nearby elementary school. He had some good points but unfortunately I was towards the back and he wouldn't hold his goshdarn microphone up to his mouth (thereby negating the amplifying properties of bspeaking through said microphone). When it was time for q-and-a, a man near me stood up to ask a question, so I, with the encouragement of others around me, went and asked him to mention the whole "hold the mic up to your mouth please" thing when the candidate called on him. "I'm part of the political process!" I said to myself cheerfully as I sat back down. The plan would have been perfect except that "our guy" (as I started referring to him) didn't get called on to ask a question. Eventually we got bored with sitting there, not hearing the Q's and only about half of the A's, so we took off.

On Sundays I always have ideas of eating breakfast and reading the paper but I never do. I just read things on the internet like always. Although I did do some laundry, so I'm feeling good about that. I should probably go hang up the drip-dry items pretty soon here. One nice thing about drip-drying your clothes is that it makes your house smell nice. This is best experienced by hanging up your clothes, then leaving the apt. for a while, and then returning. Your house will smell like the Mountain Spring freshness of Tide.

Congestion (the evil inside my head)

Today is July 18. Been really congested for the past few days. I went to my dr. and she wrote me a script for an allergy nasal spray. We'll see how that goes. Actually today I was feeling much better already.

I'm watching one of those "to catch a predator" things on Dateline. So I thought it was only fitting to link to the snl myspace skit. Seth, Bill, et al, look awesomely skeezy. Although the fellows Dateline has busted have all looked fairly "normal" so far; I mean, I wouldn't think they'd have trouble getting girls their own age.

Honestly I have been rather busy of late, and this site has suffered for it. This weekend I hope I get some time to relax! Last weekend was fun; I went to Summerfest at Ankeny and saw Standing Hampton play a couple sets. I had never been up to Summerfest; apparently it's a pretty big deal.

Happy Birfday America, and more

Today is July 10. Last week, I went to Slater for Independence Day fun. There was a guy with trained ducks marching in the parade. They were so cool! Right in front of us, they veered off the parade route and into the shade. Some of them tried to peck at me but it didn't hurt or anything.

At work I am making a sweet program with drop-down lists and buttons and SQL statements. It's something to be proud of. Also I am taking a fitness class there now on Mondays and Wednesdays.
