Steve Holt!
mood:    tired
Today is August 30. And now the story of a kick-ass show that was dicked around by the network, and the one fan who had no choice but to watch all their episodes as soon as she got them from Amazon. Yeah, that's what I'm doing right now. I'm actually really sleepy for some reason. I also got, in my order, another Steely Dan CD. I am trying to collect them.

Last night was a good time over at the Langagers. Aimee and Andy hosted a poker night over at their place. Faircloth, Dustin, and Cody were also there. Everyone but Faircloth and I had played before and were pretty clued in. So the others taught us the basics and after a couple practice hands we were off. The first round, I went out 2nd (oops) but then in the second round, I was the 2nd to last one standing! So that was interesting. Aimee won the first round and Cody the 2nd. He was rewarded with a pack of Downtown DSM playing cards and a 1-800-Bets-Off magnet from the State Fair. We had some M&M's and pretzels, and some malt beverages. Andy also made me a concoction of cranberry juice and gingerale, which was nice. There was talk of doing it on a regular basis, and that talk even occurred while I was in the room! So they must have all liked me OK. The bird boys were there too. One of them, I think Lucky, flew around the room a couple times, but mostly they hung out on their branch. Aimee really loves them, you can tell.

whatever like Sunday morning

Today is August 27. trapped in a prison of gentle grooves / A lifeless object, alive. So today is Sunday and so far it is going pretty SMOOTH. By that I mean, I have been getting a lot done, and also listening to RadioIo70's Pop on my iTunes. check out the smoothitude they have been playing so far today. Also I had a customer wearing a Loggins and Messina tee shirt that he got at their concert in Homerha. I had to give him a bunch of info on a note (don't ask) and then I threw yachtrock.com in there "just for fun." Right now I am going to work on my puzzle and daydream about the scene at 02:00 in this episode.

PS secret .Mac shout-out to Deadwood

Lab full of lab stuff
mood:    intrigued
Today is August 17. I am here in the Microwave, Analog, and High-Speed Circuits Lab. I have wireless here but it is ultra-crummy. They made me netreg for a 7-day, plus 3-day grace period time of connecting. I looked at a few pages but mostly it is too slow and flaky. I would call it an intermittent-net. So, I decided to just write a few lines on a local file and then upload it later. Good times.

I am just keeping Shannon company while he works on some grad school. My phone was making its Dying Chirps so I shut it off rather than listen to them. I should probably take it down to the car to charge. Also my puzzle that I printed off is down there, and I could get to work on that too. According to Network Utility, I am connected at 11Mbps. I never realized the 802.11b speed was so pokey.

Some things I am into lately, in no particular order.......Steely Dan, Stargate Atlantis, and stealing pre-cut tape from work. I used the pre-cut to make a sticky tape zone on my nightstand, to keep certain orange kits from leaping up there and then venturing on to the boombox. Big-boy cats cannot sit on the boombox because they might could squish the door or ruin the laser or something.

later I got all connected up on a better internets. G-speed time suckas! Oh, and the other day I was driving to work and I saw a a series of tubes and shockingly, they were loaded onto a truck. Weird, huh?

A world far smoother than the one I come from

Today is August 14. I defeated the 7 days in a row, and my reward is that I get to pretty much sit around listening to Katy Lied on repeat for as long as I want. I took a shower so I am nice and clean. Thinking about heading over to the Fair since today is supposed to be reasonable, heat-wise. K.L. so far is my favorite Dan album all the way through, but Can't Buy a Thrill is pretty badass too. I am serious about having a Steely Dan coverband as the house band for the theoretical bar I'm going to open someday. I'll be all "Please welcome to the stage, the Kid Charlemagnes, a loving tribute to.....STEELY DAN!" (I would have to scream the last bit a la Koko in YR #8)

So I think it is time to start doing stuff or it will be too late to have a giant T-loin at the fair. Think about THAT.

News of teh gross
mood:   confused
Today is August 8. Just 2 years til 8-8-08, and what exciting times those will be. Seems like only yesterday it was 8-8-88 and these kids in my class got their picture in the paper because it was their 8th bday on 8-8-88. Oh, and they were (are) twins.

So my feet are just going to rot right off my legs. There's all these little blistery patches of peeling skin, and they're super itchy. I don't know if it's bad socks, bad shoes, not drying them correctly, or just a government-created killer nano robot infestation. Maybe I'm a snake, shedding my skin, feet first. I wonder if I could go to a dermatologist for this, or if they just do face skin. No, Dermatologist, I am not going to put the Jessica Simpson face cream on my feet. I do not care if it is an easy-to-follow 3 step system. That reminds me. You guys all read toothpaste for dinner right? Well Drew also has a blog. I wanted to have my blog link to his blog. Now you should go check it out. It's funny, I have had an internets journal for almost six years now, but it has only been a "blog" for the past two or so :-p

Today is August 3. I still have to pay my rent because I am a naughty. I did clean my room yesterday and now it looks AWESOME. Floor space like you wouldn't believe. I have to work tomorrow and then I get a couple days off. I'm going to hang with my dad and brother before Jonno has to journey off to Toledo.

i finally got to see the Strangers with Candy Cmovie. Kristofor and I caught a late show over at the Fleur. Sadly no "Good times..." but some *excellent* "GOD DAMMIT!"s. Also Noblet had this wonderful little leap off the stage during the science fair that made me laugh so loud it was embarassing. After the movie we had some tasty Perkins. It was nice to spend some time with a friend outside of the works.
