Today is September 3. One whole year of news pages, wow! Where does the
time go ;-) So I decided to put all the old news pages in chronological
order so they would be easier to read.
Just got back from Orange City
where I visited my friend Naomi at
Northwestern College. My friend
Sharon and I traveled there to visit Señorita Na-o-mee, as well as
to attend the LifeLight Music
Festival in South Dakota! It was so much fun. We had some good bonding
times and watched some rockin' bands. Also met some guys selling
cool t-shirts. The
weather was hot but still nice, as there was a good breeze going.
Today is September 8. I have survived 2 weeks of school, how many more
are there to go? *sigh* It has been an interesting time. Partied with
Scott on the occasion of his birthday,
with a packed dorm room full of other well-wishers. We had a fantastic
time watching "Adult Swim" on Cartoon Network. And doing
other things ;-)
It was a good day at work today too. Since it was the first ISU home football game, we had tons of
caterings so there were many workers in the deli today. The time went
pretty fast, then I went home with the idea of bringing in the mail for
dad, showering (in a nice shower, not one built from a kit like in the
dorm) and getting some stuff to take back. But thwarting this plan were
my keys, laughing at me from their position on my desk, in front of
Larry. Locked out.
Today is September 12. Well Tuesday got off to a bad start with a freaky
dream where I was pregnant and my dad was super pissed at me. And it was
all downhill from there.
I awoke to the sounds of my TV, telling the news of the senseless attacks
on NYC and Washington DC. It was such bizarre footage, it almost felt
like a movie. Things are taking a while to sink in. I don't really know
anyone who lives in either area, but I did read on Tavie's journal that she is ok. Her
story is pretty interesting, well worth reading. A first-hand account.
Well just wanted to say, keep praying. The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
Today is September 13.
Happy Birthday "Hilary" Faith "Hilary.faith"
Straszheim!! She is the first of our little high school mob to turn 21.
So yay for her. I just got back from the shortest Computer E lab in
history. Cool songs of the moment: "God of Wonders" by Caedmon's Call,
"Renegades of Funk" & "Guerilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine. I
recommend all Mac users get Mactella.
My disclaimer is, don't get the newest version. Get 1.1, which you only
can get in foreign languages. I got the version en
español, and I am doing just fine. Oh yeah, speaking of
pirating music off the internet. There was this thing on VH1 of Behind the Music just for 2000.
And they interviewed some quote-unquote typical music listeners. And
this woman said Napster, remember the napster??, was too hard to use.
Now that makes no freakin' sense. Napster was super easy,
especially if you were on a network. And it's not like you had to
monitor your downloads anyway, you could just start 'em and then go
to sleep. Sheesh, some people's kids!
Today is September 16. Work was pretty fun today, except I cut a chunk
out of my thumb while I was chopping tomatoes. It was freaky. I bled a
lot and Chris did a mini-tournequit with
BandAid brand bandages. It
looks like someone just took a teeny tiny melon baller and scooped out a
little of my thumb tissue.
Today is September 18. This update is coming to you from the dorm of David, my CogTV buddy (and the only reader of
this little feature). Also joining us is fellow
Mac madman
Steve
Shaner. They are watching me type this and I feel really embarassed
since I am such a computer poser and they actually know what they are
doing. Also of note is that David's Mac is running
OS X (pronounced "OS
Ten") and I keep squealing with delight at all the little features.
Today is September 22. It has been a good weekend. Partied with Alicia, RGN, Amy, Little Rach, and her
new boyf Reed. It was total fun! Always good to get a little crazy and
then try to go shopping ;-)
Now I'm with my other good buddy Lorigb. Gonna watch Momento since it
got cancelled from SUB.
Today is September 28. Sorry no updates for awhile. Things have
been...weird. I've been super busy all week, then I find out scary bad
news about one of my friends from high school. So we are going through a
freak-out time about that. The only thing that has kept me sane is
computer solitaire and The
Daily Show. PS: Rush DVD Tuesday went very well too. It will be
my reward after my DiffEq test (that I need to study for yet!!)
Today is September 30, the waning hours of the month. It's been a good
return to school so far, I guess. All things
considered, as they say. Went to Waldorf to see Lars in a
musical, "Children of Eden." It was a good show, like nothing I'd seen
before really. Time for a complaint.
Why do cool bands come nowhere near Iowa on tour? Case in point, The Donnas. They are on tour, yay,
but the closest they are coming is Columbia, MO, Chicago, or
Indianapolis. And I think the Chicago show is in the middle of the week
so I couldn't go even if I *wasn't* afraid to drive there. Columbia
sounded promising....until Mapquest
estimated it would take 8 hours to get there! I know they
over-compensate and stuff, but SHEESH.
