The highest compliment

Today is September 30. The highest compliment I can give someone/thing is "I wanna party with that dude," followed by a high-five. Yeah, I stole it from Newsradio (the guys were ogling a poster of a hot chick in the building across the street, and Matthew remarked that he would like to party with that dude, meaning the owner of the poster. I think it is from Jackass Junior High) Listening to the song "Joker & the Thief" by Wolfmother makes me want to party with that dude, I guess meaning the person who wrote the song? Note that this doesn't relate to John C. Reilly as Cal Naughton Jr. saying "'Cause I like to party" as a reason for having the TV and the stereo on at the same time, although they are both great quotes.

Big-Plan Saturday!

Today is September 29. Owing to the fact that I took a nap yesterday afternoon, I woke up pretty early this AM. My plan of action goes as follows. Take a shower, blow-dry my hair, go to the Downtown Farmers Market and spend my gift cert I won from Rest Your Car. Of course the irony is that I have to take my car downtown to attend the farmers' market. Oh well. Hopefully I can find some delicimous apples and other things.

For a while, my iPod has been tap-dancing on the razor's edge of insanity. Or, more accurately, acting like it is "totally dead" and then springing back to life in the matter of 12-24 hours. So for the time being I will not recycle it and get the new 80G video or the Touch. Actually last night I almost went to the mall to do just that, but I noticed my car needed gas so I went up to the Conoco on 22nd and then to the Halloween store instead. OK, it's not just a Halloween store, but that's what I call it. Also I went to Target and got the first Guitar Hero since they had it for the same price as amazon.com. The guy in electronics that helped me had the prettiest long blonde hair. Way prettier than Sitwell as Edgar Winter.

For the latter part of the day, I'm probably going to watch some My Name Is Earl season 2 and go eat Italian food at The Tavern in V-Junk with a friend. My caginess in certain "things" is mostly due to me looking at old blog entries and seeing how they were, for a period in 2002, All-Chris, All-the-Time. Not wanting to repeat such folly, I keep my escapades in the meeting-people scene under my hat. Although I will say this: I got some pretty flowers.

Shelf-fest '07

Today is September 15. My dad was awesome enough to give me this tall bookshelf for my living room. I put the turntable and stereo on the top shelf, and then we drilled a hole through the back (it was pretty thing/flimsy) so I could run the power cords down. Cable management w00t! So far this AM I have listened to Return to Earth and right now we're spinning side two of Time. Yeah, I wanted to hear "Hold on Tight." Yeah, because of My Name is Earl. What of it.

At work, in my continuing efforts to make Visual Studio 2005/Asp.Net/C# my collective bitches, I made a web form for updating this web site. I think I half-knew that my host didn't support Asp.Net but I still had fun making it. Today my goals are to go to the P.O. and the gym. Who thinks I can do it?!?!

Haven't changed, had much to say

Today is September 9. I waited until the 5th to pay my rent, and I waited until the 9th to start a new news page. I wonder what is wrong with me. Sometimes it seems like working out is a full-time job! My routine is: 3x/week I lift and then do 30min of cardio, and 2x/week I do 45min of cardio. And when I say cardio it is not your full-out running, but just getting the heart rate up a bit, into that good fat-burning zone. Haven't gone out today yet. I'm watching The Beales of Grey Gardens which is fairly stupid of me since I haven't seen the first one, just Grey Gardens. A weird thing is that "Little Edie" is just about the age of Grandma Hazel. Of course I didn't know Grandma in 1975 but I would doubt if she was as immature. I've got Grey Gardens further down on my queue but I'm a bit disappointed in myself that I didn't put them in the correct order.

The other day someone mentioned a certain poet (can't remember who, but I wanna say it was Wordsworth) and all we could remember was that he was a poet. I couldn't think of a single work of the poet in question. It was just a feeling of failure. Now it's even more aggravating b/c I can't even think of the man's name!!

Sometimes I think the Universe is gonna be really mad at me. Also: Calypso has a new toy, an empty baby carrot bag. He lays on his back and puts it in his paws like an otter and chews on it. Then I had a bigger bag - from tortillas - and we tried to play Calypso space commander mask, which was fun, for me.
